Privacy policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This policy explains what information Rigworthy collects, why, and how it's used — including cookies and our use of Google Search Console. We keep this simple on purpose: we don't run user accounts, we don't process payments, and we don't sell personal data.
Information we collect
- Newsletter signups. If you enter your email address to subscribe, we store it with our email delivery provider solely to send you the updates you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
- Contact emails. If you email us directly, we keep that correspondence to respond to you and, where relevant, to correct our guides.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, in line with normal web hosting practice.
- Search performance data. We use Google Search Console to understand how Rigworthy appears in Google Search (queries, impressions, clicks, and indexing status). That data comes from Google's search systems, not from a tracking script we place on this site. See Google Search Console below.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies (such as local storage or pixels) may be used for the same purposes. We use — or allow third parties to use — cookies as described below.
- Essential / operational. Cookies or similar storage needed for the site to function securely and reliably (for example, hosting, security, load balancing, or remembering a preference you set). These are not used to build advertising profiles.
- Affiliate / referral tracking. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer (for example, Amazon) may set its own cookie so the referral can be attributed to us if you buy something. That cookie is set and controlled by the retailer, not by Rigworthy. We do not receive the cookie contents. See the retailer's privacy policy for details, and our affiliate disclosure.
- Analytics and measurement (if enabled). If we enable analytics or measurement tools (including Google tools that set cookies or collect usage data), they may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use this only to understand aggregate traffic and improve the guides — not to sell personal data or serve personalized ads on third-party sites.
Your choices. We show a cookie banner powered by an industry-standard consent manager. In the European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland, and similar jurisdictions, non-essential cookies are opt-in (off until you Accept). Elsewhere we use an opt-out model with equally prominent Reject controls. You can change preferences anytime via or in the site footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of non-essential cookies. You can also control or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking third-party cookies will not stop you from reading the site.
Affiliate links
Rigworthy is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. We also link to other retailers under similar affiliate arrangements. Affiliate cookies are described in Cookies and similar technologies.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to verify ownership of this site and to review how it performs in Google Search — including search queries, impressions, clicks, indexing coverage, and crawl or mobile-usability issues.
Google Search Console does not place tracking cookies on your device when you visit Rigworthy. The reports we see are provided by Google based on Google Search activity and Google's systems. Site ownership may be verified with a meta tag, HTML file, DNS record, or another method Google supports; those verification methods are for our account setup and are not used to profile individual readers.
Google's processing of data is governed by Google's own policies, including the Google Privacy Policy. If we later connect additional Google products that collect data from visits to this site (for example Google Analytics), we will update this policy to name those tools and describe the cookies or data they use.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to operate the site: sending newsletter updates you asked for, responding to messages, fixing errors in our guides, understanding search and traffic patterns so we know which guides to prioritize, and maintaining site security. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email, or by emailing us directly.
- Ask us what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing editorial@rigworthy.com.
- Open anytime to Accept, Reject, or customize categories — or use your browser settings to block third-party cookies.
Children's privacy
Rigworthy is a general-audience buying-guide site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
