The Best Under-Desk Cable Trays in 2026
The fastest way to a clean 'floating desk' look: five cable trays and channels compared by capacity, mounting method, and standing-desk fit.

The cheapest upgrade with the biggest visual payoff.
Nothing makes a setup look more expensive than the absence of visible cables. Under-desk trays, raceways, sleeves, and adhesive clips turn a rat's nest into a clean floating desk — and make standing desks safe to raise without yanking a power strip off the floor.
Our guides focus on capacity (a power strip plus bricks is bulkier than you think), mounting method (screws vs. no-drill), and how easy each system is to change later when you inevitably add gear.

Measure your power strip and count the wall bricks. Shallow trays fill up fast; 5+ inches of width holds a full surge protector comfortably.
Screw-in trays hold the most weight. Adhesive and clamp-on options protect rental desks and glass tops but have lower limits.
If your desk moves, everything must travel with it — the tray needs to hold the strip, bricks, and enough slack for full height.
Open trays and velcro beat zip ties. You will re-route cables more often than you think.
