Lighter is genuinely gentler, and a 47 g mouse takes less effort to move than a 100 g one, but the posture is unchanged. If you have existing pain, the right answer is a different class of product entirely: a vertical mouse that holds your forearm in a neutral handshake position, or a trackball that stops you moving your arm at all.
